Sunday: Father, forgive them (Luke 23:33-34)
A prayer by Jesus not for himself but for others. Not “Help me” but “Help these others”.
Surely Jesus should have raged at the sinners who nailed him to the cross. Surely he should rage at us for the evil we do, knowingly and unknowingly. Yet compassion is there in the first words that he utters. Jesus prays for us.
How do you address God when you pray? What or for whom do you pray?
Do you find forgiveness easy or hard?
Pray the Lord’s Prayer.
